1500–2999 Lumen Fenix Lights
If you only want to buy one light, it will probably come from this page. Between 1,500 and 2,999 lumens you get enough power to light a whole yard or trail, in a size that still rides on a belt or in a jacket pocket. The PD35 V3.0 and PD35R ACE are classic one-light picks, and the HM60R V2.0 is our default headlamp for long Canadian winter evenings.
One light for most of the year
The PD35 V3.0 runs on an 18650 or two CR123A cells and covers everything from the dog walk to a roadside flat. The PD35R ACE steps up to 2,000 lumens and 380 metres of reach. For something lighter around the house, the E06R Pro packs 1,600 lumens into a slim built-in-battery body. The list also includes the CL28R lantern and the BC28R and BC26R bike lights, so check the type before you compare numbers. Our winter lighting guide covers cold-weather use.
The size and heat trade-off
Most lights here run on a full-size 18650 or 21700, so they are longer and heavier than keychain models. The flat E06R Pro is the exception, reaching 1,600 lumens from a built-in cell, but a small cell has less in reserve for long stretches at the top. Whatever the size, a turbo burst builds heat and the light steps down to protect itself and the battery; that is normal, not a fault. For sustained output on a large property, look at the 3000–9999 lumen range, or line models up in our compare tool.

Frequently asked questions
- Which light here is best as a single everyday flashlight?
- For most buyers, the PD35 V3.0 or PD35R ACE. Both are 18650 flashlights that come with a holster, rated at 1,700 and 2,000 lumens, and Fenix lists both as able to run on two CR123A cells, a handy long-storage backup. The PD35R ACE charges through a hidden USB-C port in the light. If you prefer a smaller body with a built-in battery, the E06R Pro is a good alternative.
- Is a 1,600-lumen headlamp too bright?
- Not if it has good lower modes, and these do. You will spend most of your time on low or medium for camp chores and close work, and save the top output for scanning a trail, a snowmobile route or a worksite. Headlamps like the HM60R V2.0 and HM65R V2.0 are designed for exactly that range of use.
- Why are lanterns and bike lights mixed in with flashlights?
- This page groups products by maximum output, not by type. A 2,000-lumen lantern like the CL28R spreads light across a whole campsite, while a bike light like the BC28R is shaped to light the road ahead of the rider. Compare models within the same type, or use the product type labels to narrow the list.
- Do I need a 21700 battery to get this much light?
- No. Several lights here reach this range on a single 18650, including the PD35R ACE and HM60R V2.0, and the E06R Pro uses a built-in battery. Lights like the LD45R and HP25R V2.0 use a 21700, which is larger and stores more energy, so they generally hold their output longer between charges.
