Fenix Lights with Magnetic Base
A magnetic base lets a light sit on any steel surface and stay there: the side of a truck, a trailer frame, a tool chest or a steel roof beam in the garage. On the lights here the magnet is built into a handle, a top, a base or a swivel mount, depending on the model, so check which part sticks before you picture where it will go. Most of this list is lanterns, with one work light and one headlamp.
Lanterns that stick or hang
The CP50R is built with vehicles in mind: 5,500 lumens, spot and flood beams, red triangle and yellow warning lights for a roadside stop, a magnetic 360-degree handle, and a power-bank port to keep a phone alive. The CL26R Pro puts its magnet on top, so it can hang upside down from a steel surface, and adds a retractable hook for tents and a red mode for late evenings. Other lanterns on this page use a magnetic handle or base with the same idea. Compare all lanterns.
Work light and headlamp options
The WT26RM is a portable work light with a 360-degree magnetic mount that holds its angle on steel, a 362 m spotlight, a high-CRI flood for seeing true colors, and red constant or flashing light to mark a hazard. The HL17R is a 65-gram headlamp whose magnetic quick-release lets you take the lamp off the strap and stick it to metal as a small work light. For lights you can also set on a stand, see tripod-mountable lights.

Frequently asked questions
- Which magnetic light is best for a roadside emergency kit?
- The CP50R is designed for it. It sticks to the vehicle with its magnetic handle, shows red and yellow warning lights, lights the work area with up to 5,500 lumens and can charge a phone from its two 21700 cells. Keep it charged before winter road trips and store it in the cab rather than a cold trunk.
- Will these lights hold on an aluminum trailer or boat?
- No. Magnets only grip steel and iron, so aluminum trailers, boats and many newer truck panels will not hold them. For those, use the hook on a lantern like the CL26R Pro, a tripod socket where the model has one, or simply switch to a headlamp.
- Is a magnetic base lantern good for power outages at home?
- Yes. Stick it to the fridge, a steel door or the furnace cabinet, or stand it on the kitchen table. The CL26R Pro can also hang from its hook over a table, and its USB-A output can top up a phone. Use the lower settings for a long evening without power; they are easier on the eyes and on the battery.
