How to Tie Your Lanyard to a Fenix Flashlight
A lanyard prevents your flashlight from slipping out of your hand and stops it from rolling on flat surfaces. We recommend using one. All you need is a thin filament or flexible wire to thread the lanyard through the attachment point on your flashlight's tailcap.
What You Need
- Your Fenix flashlight
- The included lanyard
- A thin filament or flexible wire (used as a threading tool)
Step-by-Step Instructions
Step 1 — Gather your materials
Lay out your flashlight, lanyard, and a thin filament.
Step 2 — Thread the filament
Insert the thin filament through the lanyard hole on the tailcap of your flashlight.
Step 3 — Attach the lanyard loop
Hook the filament through the small loop at the end of the lanyard cord.
Step 4 — Pull through
Gently pull the filament back through the tailcap hole, drawing the lanyard cord with it.
Step 5 — Thread the lanyard body
Feed the main lanyard strap through the loop that is now visible on the other side.
Step 6 — Pull snug
Pull the lanyard strap all the way through until the knot sits tight against the tailcap.
Step 7 — Check the attachment
Verify the lanyard is securely looped through the tailcap hole.
Step 8 — Confirm from the other side
Check the other end to make sure the loop is seated properly and the cord is not twisted.
Step 9 — Done
Your lanyard is now attached and ready to use.
